Liberty Limited - Northern Central Railway

This dinner train had its last run on Sept. 2, 2001 after five years of opertaion. The Northern Central Railway was well-known for its "murder mystery" trains, which featured professional actors who made their way through the train and interacted with the passengers as the plot unfolded. "Scenic Sunday Dinner" trains were also well liked, particularly by families. They featured "Peck Foster and the Bluegrass Brakemen" a musical trio that combined comedy, musicianship and sing along. Of course, the 1940s train and the food were the reasons that most people rode.
