The service was outstanding, the wait staff courteous, professional and friendly. The food arrived hot and presentation was impecable. Choices are limited, as could be expected, but everything from the appetizer to the dessert was absolutely delicous. The beautiful scenery rolling by only made the experience that much more unforgetable.

The meal was great, the entertainment funny, and the staff very helpful and professional. We recommend the Overnight special, but anything with the dinner train is worthwhile. WE'LL BE BACK WITH FRIENDS!!!

This was possibly one of the worst dining experiences of my life, including elementary school lunches. The staff was friendly, but the food was terrible. I couldn't eat my salmon, and I eat the salmon in the cafeteria at work. My husband's chicken tasted like low end wedding fare. The drinks were warm, the salad was wilted, and the entertainment was sub-par.

We made reservations for four a week ahead of time. When we entered our car, there were booths for four on one side and a bench seat the length of the car on the other side with half moon tables with seatings for two on the other side. Well, as you can guess, the four of us were seated next to each other at two tables for two. We were on the beanch seats, unable to talk to each other. On the other side of the train, where the booths for four were, there were four booths that only had two people seated in them. The waitress could not accomodate us by switching us to a booth. ````The view was 80% looking at high bushes that grow along the side of railroad tracks.````The food was good, ribs, chicken and fish, however you could get the same at half the price at any of the hundreds of restraunts in Newport.````PS - If you do go, be sure to tell them you want a booth. Don't take it for granted that they have enough sense to put you in one.
